The 3 Expressions of Love
One of the major doctrines of the Church is that of the Trinity. This is the understanding of One God in Three Persons. While our minds have a very hard time grasping this concept (sorry but everything that we come up with from the egg to the three stages of matter are lacking). So while we can’t fully fathom this doctrine, we see how this doctrine is worked out in different ways.
So as we come to chapter 4 of 1 John, we are brought into the area of this Christian Doctrine and how it plays out in the history of the Church and practically in our everyday lives.
You see John has been talking for over three chapters about Love. And now love goes deep because it is all wrapped up in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And within the Trinity (One God in Three Persons) we also have Love and three expressions. And each of these expressions correlates with a person of the Trinity as we see Love played out.
So come out this Sunday and join us as we look at the 3 Expressions of Love. You won’t leave understanding the concept of the trinity, but you will be encouraged by the Love of God because God is Love!
